Description:  This car was damaged beyond the museum's capcity for restoration and was offered for sale but eventually scrapped on site. The following is from an online disscussion about the car: This car was built by the Pullman Company in 1910 for the Chicago, Milwaukee, & Puget Sound RR which is subsidiary of the Milwaukee Road, as a 12-1 sleeper. The car had several name changes and in 1931 the Pullman Company converted it into a cafe/parlor/solarium car called the Camp Grant. (I believe there were 6 "Camp" cars. This one was named after Camp Grant in Rockford, Il which was a very important Army Induction/training base in both wars - the other camp cars were named after other military camps). The Camp Grant car ran on the Milwaukee Road in the Pacific Northwest as part of the prestigious train the "Arrow". The Car was a beautiful car in its day and has some beautiful woodwork in it. It has a Galley area, Cafe area, and I believe at least 16 swivel chairs in the parlor end of the car.

Description:  Built in 1927 by Standard Steel Car Company. The following is from a display on a car: The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific operated from Chicago to the Twin Cities, Kansas, Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. Its Golden State route joined the Southern Pacific at Tucumcari for through passenger service to California. In addition to long-distance passenger trains, CRI&P operated a commuter route from the Loop to Blue Island and Joliet. In the 1920s, the railroad upgraded its fleet of commuter coaches with a new arched-roof design. The new cars were utilitarian, with rattan seating and minimal interior decoration. Compared to standard long-haul coaches of the era, their lightweight (one-third less) and high capacity (nearly half again as many riders) made the commuter service more efficient. The fleet remained in regular use until the late 1970s, when they were replaced with modern bi-level cars. IRM purchased CRI&P 2582 from the railroad. It is operational.

Description:  Built by Pullman in 1908. The following is from a display on the car: Chicago Railways was formed in 1903, and eventually operated over 575 miles of street trackage from downtown to the citys North and West sides. In 1914, Chicago Railways combined with three other lines to form the Chicago Surface Lines. Those routes eventually became part of the CTA in 1947. CR (and later CSL and CTA) 460 was one of 600 identical wooden pay-as-you-enter (PAYE) cars. PAYE cars required passengers to board only at the rear, so that the conductor did not have to roam the car to collect fares and dispense transfers. These Red Rocket streetcars-considered a classic Chicago design-ran until the 1950s, among the last non-PCC cars in use. IRM received the car in 1985, after donation by the CTA. Only three cars of this type (including restored CSL 144, also at IRM) have been preserved.
