Title:
PRR 2343, EF-25, 1965
Description:
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2343 and #2369. Both are EF-25's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #2343 was constructed in February of 1965, while #2369 was built in April of the same year. In this context, they're roaring past SLOPE Tower with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. (#6 of 44)
