BB 6 and BB 18 on a resue mission
Description:
2.19.2025 Crozet, VA. Rescue in action! BB 6 and 16 race down from Afton Mountain to rescue a disabled westbound Amtrak Cardinal. Somewhere between Culpeer and Charlottesville Amtrak locomotive #137 began developing mechanical problems. It made it as far as East Crozet before alerting the Buckingham Branch dispatcher that they could go no further. These locomotives were called back down the mountain to provide power for #51 to Clifton Forge.
