Here is the second of two successive original photos by John S. Fisher that were taken in Columbus, Ohio, in November of 1954. Shown here is the running gear of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3874, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1923 and retired in April of 1956 after 33 years of faithful service. Note that the main driving rod has been removed in preparation for scrapping. |
