PRR 5526, T-1, c. 1953
Duplexes. Here is a photo of two Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives. At the left is engine #5526, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1946 and retired in December of 1953 after just seven years of revenue service. At the right is an unidentified Class Q-2 (4-4-6-4) "Duplex." Note that the T-1's main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping; the same applies to the Q-2, too. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
