NVRR GE 44T #50 - Napa Valley RR |
| Description: |
Sharp roster shot taken by an unidentified rail fan of Napa Valley RR GE 44T #50 switcher. GE built this switcher in February of 1941 originally as CBQ #9106 (serial #12951). The switcher then moved over to the Burlington Northern roster as their #3. It was sold to the Camino, Placerville and Lake Tahoe. From there it landed on the Napa Valley RR roster as #50. Unfortunately, the switcher is no longer listed on the Napa Valley roster. Disposition is unknown at this time. An interesting side note is there was a San Francisco & Napa Valley RR GE 44T #50 much earlier that roamed the Napa Valley - no connection however. No photographer was listed for the color slide which is now in my collection. |
