BN train 138 returns to Klamath Falls with the UP interchange traffic from Bieber. During 1984-85, traffic on this part of the Inside Gateway consisted of one train a day operated as a turn out of Klamath Falls, 137 southbound and 138 northbound, usually with the trio of GP39-2s seen here. Thankfully for us foamers, it usually ran in the daytime. BN 2708 was later BNSF 2708. Date of photo approximate. |

Normally this wouldn't have been a train I burned film on, but seeing a B unit got the shutter clicking. By this point, a GP9B was really rare. They were waiting for clear to head into Sioux City, and I had to run home to get my camera (I was coming home from work at the time). Can't see the last unit number but oh well. |
